Writing reviews
I am an aspiring writer. I've never had anything published but I am working on 2 'Future Shock' stories for 2000AD and I'm working on my own comic book/graphic novel. I have a synopsis and the first 20 pages completed.
I was wondering, will there be any professionals at the show that would be interested in taking a sample script from me? I realise they'll be too busy to have a good read when they're at the show but maybe they could take them with them. What is the etiquette for this kind of thing?

Re: Writing reviews
Hey,
Yeah, I saw the competition advertised before. I considered it but to be honest I'm too much of a chicken to get up onstage, infront of a crowd of rabid comic book nerds, and 'sell' my idea. I was just wondering if there was anyone that would be interested in having a read of some of my material.

Re: Writing reviews
The best thing to do would be to either print up copies or make some disks of your script and get it out to publishers and artists. There will be lots at the show, most with tables where you can appraoch them directly.
That's one of the reasons we put the show on really, so that creators get a chance to do some networking, and generally enjoy spending time with other creatives.
It's not all just for the fans.

Cool. That's what I had planned to do. I wasn't sure how people at the event would react though. You know after I'm the 50th person there to hand over my comic script to them. I'll print out a good few copies. Hopefully it wont end up just being a waste of paper and ink.
