Who do YOU want to see at BICS?

Jim Lee

You'd be surpised how many of these folks we are actually talking to.

Some of these guys won't travel to the UK, but some were actually invited last year but couldn't make it.

Great idea for a thread Simon, we'll be watching this one for sure!

I can imagine that it is tough to convince some US artists, but maybe one can manage to convince some of the more rare UK artists. Artists I seldom see on UK conventions are:

Chris Weston (seems to be very very busy with "The Twelve")
Ian Churchill
Brian Hitch
Frazer Irving
Mike Ploog
Barry Windsor-Smith

Or how about some Spanish artists?

or Simone Bianchi from Italy?

Maybe it is easier to convince European artists - at least the flight costs are not that huge.

Again many of the names you list, we are already talking to and one is very likely to confirm very soon.

Most folks we talk to want to come to the show, it's just that they often have deadlines or other work/ commitments that prevent them from attending.

Frazer Irving was at last year's show, and Chris Weston did confirm, but had to pull out at the last minuite to to unforseen circumstances. Hopefully he can make it this year.

I'd also like to see Olivier Coipel attend again. I was unforunate enough to miss out twice at last year's BICS in getting a sketch. Third time lucky?
