# for artists?

Post  Kraven on Mon Sep 08, 2008 8:34 pm

For those artists - like Cassaday - where zillions of people will queue for: do you plan to give out numbers, so the line won't block the whole show and people can enjoy all of the show without having to stand in line for 2 hours? On some shows they do, just wondering. It has some disadvantages (e.g. all dealers and people relating to dealers will get early access and grab all numbers available) but it general I think it is a good idea. Especiually for a 2day show with so much to look at

Artists

Hi Kraven

A good idea, and something we'll certainly look at.

We don't really imagine too much of a problem with queing this year, but if the ques do get very big, then we may have to put a similar system into place next year.

Last year the ques were quite big for Mignola and Nowlan, but I don't think anyone had to wait that long.

Cassaday will be signing for uptp two hours each day, so there should be plenty of time for fans to all see him.
The full events schedule will be online very soon.

While I agree that #'d tickets aren't needed the best thing I saw at this years NY con was at the DC booth where they had large A4 cards to give to "The Last Person In Line" - we've all suffered the pain of standing for 30mins just to be told the guy/girl in front of you is going to be last ... these cards saved time for Joe punter and saved embarrassment on the part of the creator.

Clearly not everyone will need one but its a good idea particularly if you're pulling you stars off to panels etc...

I like the idea of "Last Person in Line" cards, nothing worse than waiting 30 minutes in a 'dead' line when you could be elsewhere. It would be nice, although probably impractical, to have two lines. One for sketching and another for autograph hunters, for every sketch that goes through you could feed half a dozen autographs through and free up the lines.

If you are standing in a line you can't be spending money at a stall :-)
